How to spot a recovery scam (because they look professional now)
Recovery scams have evolved. They have polished websites, paid Google ads, and Telegram channels with fake testimonials. Three universal red flags:
- They DM'd you first. No legitimate recovery service messages you out of the blue. 100% of unsolicited "I can recover your account" messages are scams.
- They want payment up front, in crypto. Real services bill after delivery and accept normal payment methods. Crypto-only with no recourse is a scam tell.
- They ask for your password. Recovery is always identity-based, never password-based. If anyone asks for your live password, walk away.
